Lockdown: Bawumia Gives 500 Cedis To ‘Kayayos’ Caught In Cargo Truck

The vice president of Ghana has come to the rescue of the Kayayos who were arrested yesterday trying to escape the Kumasi lockdown-order by the President, Nana Addo.

We reported yesterday on how a group of women were seen parked at the back of a tractor traveling from Kumasi to the Nothern region of Ghana, in an attempt to escape the Lockdown by the president.
While Ghana is still in lockdown, some people have disobeyed and have been punished by military and policemen, while some have just been obedient enough to stay in their homes as directed by the president.
Coming to the rescue of these people [mostly women], the vice president has shared amongst them 500ghs each for their up throughout the lockdown season.
The donation was made on behalf of the Vice President by the Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Hajia Alima Mahama.
She was accompanied by Dr. Sagare Bambangi, MP for Walewale and Mustafa Ussif, CEO of the National Service Secretariat.
Hon. Hajia Alima Mahama also revealed that President Akufo-Addo has directed that government assist all Kayayo by giving each of them GH 10 cedis per day to buy food throughout the lockdown period.
A big thumbs up to Bawumia on this one, and we hope to see more good like this in the future from people in power.
