In an earlier post published on our platform, President Nana Akufo Addo declared a partial lockdown for Kumasi and Accra effective Monday at 1 am for two weeks.

Well, Nana Akufo Addo in his dedication towards fighting the coronavirus has donated his three-month salary to fight the coronavirus.

According to the President in his address, he has ordered the controller and accountant general to deposit his three months salary to the COVID 19 fund; a fund dedicated to raising money towards helping the needy and vulnerable amid coronavirus crisis.

The COVID 19 Fund is however managed by an independent board of trustees and chaired by former Chief Justice, Sophia Akuffo.

As of 27th March 2020, Ghana has recorded 137 cases with 4 deaths and 2 recoveries.

President Akufo Addo, however, concluded that Ghanaians can fight this virus if the measures put in place are adhered to.
