most inappropriate experience you have never had with a doctor
This happened fairly recently. My regular doctor was at a seminar so I saw a different doctor at the clinic.
My complaint was severe headaches and high blood pressure. My mother was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and I was very stressed so I was pretty sure that's what was causing it. I told the doctor about all this and he told me pancreatic cancer was the worst kind and he wouldn't wish it on his worst enemy. Clearly I didn't need to hear those things at the moment but there he was, listing of celebrities and politicians who died from pancreatic cancer.
He then asked me if I was sleeping. I said yes, sleeping is not an issue for me and never has been, to which he answered he would NOT be prescribing me sleeping pills…. I repeated that sleeping was not an issue and I didn't want sleeping pills so he proceeded to tell me that I should do some aerobics before bed. He pulled up a YouTube video of a fitness instructor and showed me a few minutes of it, bobbing his head to the music.
He promised that doing this every night would help me sleep.
Finally he got around to taking my blood pressure, but only the systolic (my diastolic has been consistently over 100) He said it was only 136 and prescribed me Naproxen. Naproxen is known to raise blood pressure.
As a side note, my mother's tumour was fully removed in November and she's cancer free and undergoing mild chemo to prevent recurrence.
